When a car fitted with a fixed beam rear axle is lowered, the rear wheels take on excessive negative camber. On the VW Golf MK4 platform, this can also affect rear toe. Left uncorrected, the result is uneven tyre wear on the inner edge, reduced tyre contact with the road surface and compromised handling.
Stance+ Rear Nylon Camber Shims correct rear camber on these fixed beam axle applications. The camber shims fit between the stub axle and the beam, tilting the hub to bring the rear wheels back into proper alignment. The kit is designed to work alongside the Stance+ Camber and Caster Adjustable Polyurethane Top Mount Set, giving a complete front and rear geometry correction solution for heavily lowered VW Golf MK4 platform cars. Suitable for: Audi A3 (8L), Audi TT (8N3/8N9), Seat Leon (1M), Seat Toledo MK2 (1M), Skoda Octavia (1U), VW Beetle (9C/1Y/1C), VW Bora (1J) and VW Golf MK4 (1J). Only suitable for 2WD models. This camber adjustment kit for the VW Golf MK4 2WD platform cars also includes the Stance+ brake caliper correction shim kit, supplied in 8 individual pieces (4 pairs of varying width shims). When camber is adjusted on these cars, the caliper position relative to the disc can change slightly. These nylon shims correct this, ensuring even brake pad wear across the full face of the disc after fitting.
Supplied as an axle kit. Fitment takes approximately 40 to 60 minutes.
Kit contains: 1 x 5.75970k caliper shim kit (for both rear calipers), 2 x 5.71532k (+0.5 degree camber shims), 2 x 5.71533k (+1.0 degree camber shims). This kit offers a range of rear camber adjustment from: +0.5 degree, +1.0 degree and +1.5 degrees (when both shims are used together) on each axle.
For safety reasons we strongly advise fitting is carried out by a qualified vehicle mechanic or trained vehicle technician. Always have the alignment reset using a suitable laser alignment machine after fitting.
