Warranty

Stance+ warrants all products to be free from manufacturing defect for a minimum of 12 months except our Stance+ Street, Stance+ Ultra and Stance+ Proline Coilover Kits which are covered for 24 months from the date of purchase. All Stance+ warranties are non-transferable.

Warranty Requirements:
To benefit from the Stance+ warranty all products should be:

  • 1) Correctly fitted by a qualified person with a recognised motor industry training certificate (NVQ, City & Guilds etc)
  • 2) Fitted in accordance with the product design
  • 3) Maintained regularly to prevent seizure and premature wear
  • 4) Only used under normal road traffic conditions

What Is Not Covered?
Stance+ products are covered against manufacturing defects. The warranty does not cover any product damage or failure as a result of:

  • 1) Incorrect installation procedures such as gripping of coilover piston rods
  • 2) Stripped threads or crossed threads from over-tightening or use of buzz guns/impact drills
  • 3) Any physical damage as a result of over-tightening bolts
  • 4) Seizures due to a lack of maintenance
  • 5) Damage as a result of a sudden impact or accidents
  • 6) Normal wear and tear

Top Mount Fitting: All our Stance+ Coilover Kits require the re-fitting of the factory original equipment top mounts and bearings. Please make sure the top mount and bearing assembly is fitted as per factory specification. The most common error people make is getting the top mount sequencing wrong. If the front springs start making a pinging or twanging noise when the steering wheel is turned left to right this indicates the bearings are not fitted correctly or have failed. Instead of the coilover pivoting on the top mount bearings the springs start moving and jumping on the coilover adjuster collars. This can damage the springs and height adjusters, so it is essential the top mounts are fitted correctly.

Do NOT Grip The Piston Rods: When re-fitting factory top mounts to the Stance+ coilovers it is essential that the correct tools are used. When mounting the front suspension top mounts, the piston rod will rotate when the top mount nut is tightened (this is normal). To tighten the top mount nut, you need to prevent the rods from rotating. The Stance+ piston rods have either an Allen key top or hexagonal (socket) top which needs to be used to stop the rod rotating when tightening the top mount nut. Suitable spanners (swan neck) must be used to secure the factory top mounts securely and the nut torqued to factory spec. Do not use buzz guns as this can strip the threads on the piston rods.

Important: When fitting top mounts and tightening down the locking nut mole grips or pliers must not be used to grip the piston rods, this will score or damage the piston rods, resulting in the suspension strut leaking oil.

Please see images below showing damage caused by incorrect fitting procedures (piston gripped by mole grips). This is an example of when a warranty is rejected.

Please note that 99% of failed / leaking struts that we get back have been gripped during installation and for this reason warranty will not send out free parts ahead of the faulty units being returned.

Warranty Advice:
Only use a trusted garage to install your Stance+ products and ensure the garage has the correct tools required to fit your items. Whilst incredibly rare, warranty claims are inevitable however most claims that we see are due to incorrect installation procedures or neglect.

If your damper or strut is leaking then it is highly likely that the installer has gripped the piston rods during installation. This generally causes issues within days/weeks/months depending on the severity and location of the gripping. Installers do this to speed up installation time or simply due to not having the proper tools or knowledge.

This piston damage tears at the oil seals whilst at the same time allows the oil to bypass the seals which eventually leads to a lack of oil within the damper, a lack of damping and subsequent knocking/rattles.

Making a Warranty Claim:
All warranty claims should be submitted through your purchasing dealer with photo/video evidence of the fault and your proof of purchase. All parts subject to a warranty claim must then be inspected by Stance+ or the relevant dealer.

For a warranty claim you will need to provide the following information:

1.        Copy of your purchase receipt/invoice.

2.        Image of the part in question showing the issue.

3.        Brief description of the issue.

If you cannot remove the parts to send them back for testing, you can purchase new replacements. Once fitted, you can then return the old struts for a warranty inspection. If the returned suspension struts pass the warranty inspection, you will be refunded the cost of the replacement units. Dampers returned with piston rod damage (as mentioned above) will be refused warranty.

The warranty does not cover any postage costs, labour charges or other consequential damage/loss that may be incurred as a result of a warranty claim.

Warranty Legal:

STANCE+ (we, our, us) products are designed, manufactured and tested to comply with TüV regulations and/or ISO 9001:2015¹. This means that our products meet the quality requirements set out on the Consumer Right Act 2015 (CRA). Purchasers (you, your) of our products will be protected by both the CRA and our own warranty.

You can see the full details of the CRA online, the most important aspects of your protection under this act are as follows:

a. You have the right to reject any goods supplied by Stance+ within a period of 30 days from the purchase date and request a full refund if the goods are of unsatisfactory quality, unfit for purpose or not as described. The goods must be returned in their original packaging and must contain all parts as originally supplied. Any missing parts or damage to the component(s) may affect the amount refunded.

b. If a fault occurs within 6 months from the date of purchase you can return any component which has developed a fault and we can choose to repair or replace the part if a manufacturing defect has caused the fault. We will need to inspect any claimed component before we can confirm that a manufacturing defect has caused the fault.

c. If a fault occurs between 6 and 12 months from the date of purchase, the CRA says that you will have to prove that the fault existed at the time of purchase. However, we will always treat any claim with an open mind and if we think there has been a genuine product failure we will honour claims during the 6-12 month period. As above we will need to inspect any claimed component before we can make a judgement.

We are very keen to make sure we deal with any issues in a fair way for all concerned, so because the law says that any goods with a suspected fault must be returned to the retailer (us) for inspection, and that is not always convenient or possible with car suspension parts, we offer these choices:

1.     Replacement parts can be supplied on payment of a deposit for each component. The deposit amount will be set by Stance+ depending upon the particular component involved. You will need to arrange to send the claim item to Stance+ for inspection. If a manufacturing defect can be confirmed on inspection by Stance+, the deposit payment (including postage) will be refunded within 7 working days of receipt of the claim item, a completed claim form and any other documents requested by us.

2.     Alternatively, products can be returned to Stance+ for inspection and be replaced or repaired if required. If no manufacturing defect exists, the replacement item will be chargeable at the retail price for the individual component.

In cases 1 and 2, a claim form/Technical Information Sheet will need to be completed in full and BEFORE removal of the claimed part(s). We will let you know about this at the time of arranging to send replacement part(s) to you.

The warranty provides cover for all components supplied as part(s) of a Stance+ kit, purchased from Stance+ directly or from an approved Stance+ distributor, against a manufacturing defect occurring within the periods described below from the original purchase date. To keep the full cover provided by the warranty, you will need to have the product fitted by a trained professional Motor Mechanic or Vehicle Technician. Proof of purchase will be required.

The warranty does not cover any labour costs and/or consequential damage whether directly or indirectly caused as a result of the installation of any Stance+ product.

A warranty claim may be rejected or delayed if insufficient details are provided. Please make sure that all information requested on the Technical Information Form is provided.
