How do Wheel Spacers Work?

How do Wheel Spacers Work?

Wheel spacers are machined round aluminium plates that fit between the vehicle's wheel hub and wheel. They essentially push the wheels outward from the car, which makes the track width wider. The wider track effectively changes the wheel to a more negative offset, and pushes the tyres closer to the outer edge of the wheel arches.

Our Stance+ Alloy Wheel Spacers are well known worldwide for their precise fit, outstanding quality and value.

Precision Made: Manufactured to exacting standards, these lightweight Alloy Wheel Spacers are CNC machined from billet 6061 T6 aircraft grade alloy and are extremely easy to fit to your vehicle. We supply our Wheel Spacers in pairs, or in kit form where the necessary extended wheel bolts are included. Our Alloy Wheel Spacers are not multi drill like some cheaper brands, each spacer is drilled to your cars specific PCD and centre bore, this significantly reduces imbalance and wheel wobble experienced with cheaper multi drill spacers.

“Enhance your Stance” with Stance+ Premium Alloy Wheel Spacers.

Our Stance+ Alloy Wheel Spacers are anodised matt silver to match the colour of your wheel hubs, not black like some other brands which can easily scratch and look terrible behind your alloy wheels.

Our Alloy Wheel Spacers are available in various PCD fitments and are available in many unique sizes and widths.

We offer various sizes: 3mm, 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 7mm, 8mm, 13mm, 15mm, 17mm, 20mm, 23mm, 25mm, 27mm, 30mm, 35mm, 40mm, 45mm width spacers.

Stance+ is the only brand to offer such a variety of wheel spacer sizes. Our PCD specific Alloy Wheel Spacers will eliminate the wheel “wobble” you get from cheaper multi-drilled spacers.

The wider Stance+ bolt on spacers (20mm and above) use pressed steel inserts for extra strength and durability.

Each Wheel Spacer is laser etched with the Stance+ logo to prove authenticity and give you increased confidence you have bought a quality, genuine product.

Why fit Stance+ Alloy Wheel Spacers?

By increasing the track width on your vehicle, you will immediately notice two things, firstly the car looks more aggressive and more importantly the handling will be improved. Increased wheel track equates to increased stability. We supply various sizes of wheel spacer from 3mm to 45mm, and all spacers are priced and supplied as a pair. Longer wheel bolts will need to be used on the 3mm-17mm kits. We can supply these on their own or part of a Stance+ Wheel Spacer Kit.

For safety reasons we insist that all our kits are fitted by a qualified vehicle mechanic or trained vehicle technician. Bolts torqued to factory specifications.

Our Scirroco R below is running Cast13 RB2 18x9.5 et35 wheels with our Stance+ System B (20mm) bolt on wheel spacers all round. This gives the car a new wheel offset of et15. (Pushing the wheels closer to the arches) and acheiving that perfect aggressive Stance.

Stance+ Alloy Wheel Spacers are supplied in three distinct styles:

Stance+ System (A) Wheel Spacers - Supplied as a pair of flat hub centric spacers. Lightweight T6061 aluminium construction. Anodised for extra weather protection and laser etched with the Stance+ logo. Longer wheel bolts will be required; these can be purchased separately or as part of a kit. Sizes available from 3mm to 8mm.

Stance+ System (A Centric) Wheel Spacers - Supplied as a pair of flat hub centric spacers with a machined hub locating ring. Lightweight T6061 aluminium construction. Anodised for extra weather protection and laser etched with the Stance+ logo. Longer wheel bolts will be required; these can be purchased separately or as part of a Stance+ spacer kit. Sizes from 13mm to 17mm.

Stance+ System (B+) Wheel Spacers - Supplied as a pair of bolt on style hub centric spacers with a machined hub locating ring. Lightweight T6061 aluminium construction. Anodised for extra weather protection and laser etched with the Stance+ logo. The system (B+) Stance+ Wheel Spacers are bolted onto the hub first using Stance+ Bolts (supplied in the kit). The alloy wheel is then bolted to the spacer using the existing O.E 28mm wheel bolts. This type of spacer is only used on the thicker spacers we manufacture (20mm-45mm). System (B+) Wheel Spacers use additional steel inserts for extra strength, safety and longer life.

Important: Using the smaller 20mm Stance+ Bolt on style spacer you may need to shorten the stock O.E wheel bolts if they have a thread length longer than 25mm. Failure to do so may result in you stripping the threads or buckling the spacer. Always test fit the spacers to the back of the wheel before bolting the spacer to your wheel hub; this will ensure the wheel bolts you are using do not poke through the back of the spacer. If they do, you will need to shorten the wheel bolts. If you are unsure, please call for advice.

Fitting Stance+ Alloy Wheel Spacers

When fitting Stance+ Alloy Wheel Spacers, you must first ensure the surface you are fitting the spacer to is clean and free from dirt and dust particles. We recommend using a wire brush to prepare the surface. Brush on a small amount of copper grease to prevent the spacer from dislocating when you fit the wheel and help prevent rust on the hub. Tighten the wheel bolts to the factory torque settings. Professional fitment is always advised.

Which Stance+ Alloy Wheel Spacers will fit my car?

When buying Stance+ Alloy Wheel Spacers, it is up to you to be sensible and buy spacers that will not cause tyre/arch contact. Simply measure the space you have between tyre and arch then give yourself an approximate 5mm safety gap. For example, if the distance between the tyre and arch is 20mm, order a 15mm or smaller spacer.

Will I need longer wheel bolts for my Stance+ Alloy Wheel Spacers?

If you are purchasing Stance+ System A or Stance+ System A centric Wheel Spacers these do not come with longer bolts (unless you purchase one of our spacer kits), the rule of thumb is any spacer over 3mm you will require longer wheel bolts. When purchasing longer wheel bolts simply measure the length of the standard factory wheel bolt then add the width of the spacer you are fitting, this will give you the required bolt length. For example, if the factory fit thread length bolts are 27mm long and you’re fitting 13mm spacers you will require 40mm (27mm+13mm) wheel bolts. A bolt measuring a few millimetres too long is usually not a problem.

If you are purchasing Stance+ System (B+) wheel spacers then all the necessary wheel spacer fitting bolts are included in the kit, so no need to buy extra bolts. If you require any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Always test fit the spacer to the back of the wheel before bolting the spacer to your hub. This will ensure the wheel bolts you are using do not poke through the back of the spacer. If they do you will need to shorten the wheel bolts.

If you are unsure, please call for advice. Using wheel bolts that are too long may damage the ABS ring found on some cars. If you are unsure of what spacer/bolt combination to use please call us before ordering, we are always here to help.

IMPORTANT: Please make sure you order the correct size of spacer for your car; we cannot accept returned spacers once they have been fitted to a vehicle.
